¡Hola, soy Joa!

Hi, I'm Joa!

Born in Venezuela, my life has been a constant journey of personal and creative discovery. At the age of 24, I made the decision to leave my home country in search of new opportunities and experiences. Migration was a challenge, marked by separation from my family and adaptation to a new culture, but it also marked the beginning of a process of self-discovery.

For many years, I immersed myself in the culinary world, finding passion and expression in cooking. However, the desire to explore other art forms was always present in my heart. It was then that I discovered ceramics, a medium that allowed me to merge my love for creativity with my need for expression.

My most notable collection, “Corazones Raros” (Strange Hearts), was born from my search for identity and belonging in a constantly changing world. Each piece is unique and reflects my personal experience of feeling emotionally disconnected at different times in my life, especially during my migration process. I experienced the feeling of being alien to a culture that was not my own, while missing people and moments from my childhood.

My story is one of personal growth, perseverance and passion for art. Every step in my journey, from my homeland to my ceramics studio, has contributed to shaping who I am today: a constantly evolving artist, inspired by my past and motivated by the future, accompanied by José and Obi.
